How can we help you?

Farm advisory service

Site visits are a key element of this farm advisory service: the recommendations are entirely tailored to each individual situation based on the farm history, the appearance of the runs, any complaints that may exist, the autopsy results and additional tests and investigation. Poultry Vets offers comprehensive vaccination programmes to prevent major diseases. The effectiveness of these programmes is monitored on a continuous basis and adapted based on the registered incidence of disease in the area. The scope of our support extends far beyond this however: our recommendations consider all aspects of management associated with the animals. Shelter, feed strategy, water, climate and hygiene – we monitor everything continuously, and, where necessary, recommend improvements.

Independent opinion

Poultry Vets is always at your service for an impartial farm assessment, either independently or in consultation with your farm vet. Problems are often extremely complex and we can help solve complex issues through impartial and objective assessment.

Laboratory

Poultry Vets employs the services of a qualified support team for animal autopsies and laboratory tests. The practice has its own surgical theatre, both in Ell and in Ruurlo, for performing comprehensive autopsies on your poultry. Regardless of the nature of the complaint, all of the major organs of the animals submitted for autopsy are systematically examined as a matter of course. If appropriate, specific investigation takes place in order to identify the cause of the complaints. The autopsy procedure includes an external examination and internal assessment based on 12 pathological groups, microscopic and macroscopic parasitological tests and a probability-based diagnosis. The laboratory facilities are used if the autopsy reveals the need for further tests.

Pharmacy

Animal health, animal welfare, public health and food safety are clear priorities. So Poultry Vets has an extensive range of preventive veterinary medicines at its disposal, generally in the form of drinking water additives in its own line, the Fit-line. Poultry Vets has GMP+, Securefeed and Sedure Egg Farmer certification for this. All veterinary medicines are carefully stored (in controlled conditions where appropriate) and can be located quickly and easily in the supply chain from producer to end-user via a “track and trace” system.
